This is probably one of the best releases in the year of 2005 and Comatose music should thank their lucky star that they got their shit together and finally released something that I think is of a greater caliber than what they have been releasing recently. Vomit the soul has been around for a while and I think that they released a demo or something before this, I guess whatever it was I didnt like it at all because I can't remembering anything from it apart from that it didnt sound as good as this fresh release.

The coverart kinda makes you think that this would sound something like Deicide or Morbid, in overall, some kind of evil-sounding death metal, but unfortunantly that's out of the question. What you get here might not be the most original death/grind that you've ever heard, but for certain, one of the best and most well-produced albums that you will hear this year. Bands that comes to mind has to be the american bastards Disgorge (not that overly technical though), Beheaded and maybe a hint of Despised Icon (without those hardcoreparts). I get somewhat of a old-school feel from some of the riffs which indicates that these guys haven't entirely given in for the new school of brutal death metal and I think thats good, you get a good contrast of some old stuff and some of the newer, more moshier parts.

Probably the best thing about this album has to be the vocals, really powerfull grunts combined with some occasional squels, not that diverse perhaps, but darn good nontheless and I wouldn't mind seeing this guy doing these vocals live as he handles the guitar at the same time as well since some vocalists has to cup the mic in order to come out sounding like this guy. I don't really know if he sounds like some other vocalist, it's pretty plain, but really brutal and he has a good flow, maybe a bit like the guy from Guttural Secrete at some parts, but the G.S. vocalist is far more diverse.

I seriously think that you can't miss out on this album because it pretty much has everything you would love to have in a brutal death/grind cd, you got simi-technical structures, grooves and slams, pretty fast drumming and really good vocals as well. So do me a favour after you've read this review, surf to Comatose Music's homepage, sign the guestbook telling them that they should sign more bands like this and finally, go to Vomit the souls homepage and hit those mofo's up!
