this stuff is one of long awaited for me.this new band from russia is so promising and making you surprised for sure.if you like abominable putridity,this should be one of your fav russian bands.acturally the band includes ex-abnominable putriditys guitarist and he brings some essences of that band to katalepsy.needless to say theres tons of slams and breakdowns. slam riffs remind me of devourment but not copy cat ones.they evolve them to their owns.and its nice to hear that they use picking harmonics sometimes to make diversity to riffs which are so chuggey and thick.and theres tons of devourment styled breakdowns.slams and breakdown riffa are so sophisticated and top-notch.they does not seem like just emulating devourment but as i said,they create their owns for sure. vocals are gurgles and the vocalist is one of great vocalists using gurgles as well.his ones are so deep and low.i really love wayne knupps gore gurgles.i cant compare waynes to his ones but theres some similarities between them! as for drumming,what is impact on me is that he plays ultra fast blastings and double basses are so accurate,gravity and fast like machine(drummachine??).drumming is awesome,if you ask me.and he do occasional drum rolles like devourment.the drum sounds abit tiped tincan which is the way i like. they play mortician and megadeths cover songs.they made them more sicker and they dont seems like coversongs but their songs. the album contains total 7 songs.ive listened to this stuff many times again and again.this should be checked out soon,if you dont have.you are knocked out by their hell of tons of slams and breakdowns.one of the best bands playing this kind of style.katalepsy is gonna be brutalizing the scene with abominable putridity.dont miss it.this stuff is one of coolest slam album in this year!!
