Implements of Hell - Demo

Myspace Website
This is a new Las Vegas band!!! So if you ask me about Las Vegas , I imagine guttural secrete first ha-ha. I always wait for news about that scene cos guttural secrete is a great band and one of the bands that represents the current scene and I hoped more bands following after GS will come out from there. Implements of hell is a pretty new band there and music wise the vocals are really some different kind of vocals at same time like high, low gutturals, squeals and some different vocal styles like hard core screams. So they have some varied vocals at same time and this vocal assault hehe really reminds me of waking the cadaver. The heavy beatdowns remind me of the partisan turbine!!! They always play down beats and beatdowns there's a hard core vibe but the music itself is more solid and brutal and into this they blend some essences as well. So this band is pretty nice for me and I'm interested and hope to hear more stuff with a better production.

Implosive Disgorgence - 5 song demo

From Pompano Beach, Florida comes this three piece with one of the most brutal demo's of 2005. I've heard demo's and some other shit before this, think they have released a bunch of splits as well, but since all they have is an account at www.hxcmp3.com and now you can find them on www.myspace.com as well, there isn't that much that you will find out these guys, its a mystery hehe.. just as mysterious as the songstitles are just named "Chapter 1", "Chapter 2", all the way to chapter number 5.

I.D. has a rather own style actually, blending both really fast grind, as well as onehandrolls (!) with some really heavy and moshaddictive grooves and breakdowns. The faster parts making me think of such bands like Circle of dead children (rather primitive yet really raw and brutal) and the heavier parts being just as catchy as anything that Cock and ball torture would've written mixed with some influences from old Skinless as well.

My favourite thing about this band even since the first time I actually heard them is the vocals that are so barbaric and monstrous, yet really agressive they actually startled me when I first started to listen to this demo. If you've had the chance to hear their earlier releases you will notice the difference, there are also some cool screams present as well, rather grindcore/hardcore sounding, but they arent used that often though.

Pig Destroyer does it and so can Implosive Disgorgence! The thing I'm trying to say is that you wont even notice that its just one vocalist, one guitarist and one drummer when listening to this demo. The guitars are really really heavy and has this HUGE "fatness" to it while the drums are pretty trigged, especially the kickdrums and the snare, but then again I'm no drumtechnican so I could be wrong haha, just a hunch I guess!

These guys are now signed to Permeated Records and from what I read these guys would release a fullength in September, but since September has passed by now and they seem to be having problems with their drummer I got no idea when it will be out, so lets just hope for the best. Five pretty short songs of fast blasts, really sick grooves and vocals from the very depths of hell should be just enough to convince you that you cant miss out on these guys!

Infected Malignity - Demo 2005

Links:
Band Website
I first heard of this band after an add in the Grindead Webzine guestbook and by just seeing that these guys were from Japan made my interest and curiousity grow skyhigh so I went to their page and tried to download some tracks. Sadly, the download failed and it didnt at all to hear the tracks, then later on I e-mailed Takuma about reviewing their demo and luckily I received this demo. I've been lazy, I'm totally aware of that and I know that this demo shoudl've been reviewed weeks ago, but due to other issues I simply havent had the time, but thats gonna change right now. Infected Malignity contains members from a now defunct band called Defiant Manner (thanks Seiji for the info), I never heard the band though.

Infected Malignity are definantly one of the leaders of brutal japanese death metal. They got one foot in the old dying fetus styled death metal sound and one foot in disgorge (usa)/devourment style as well meaning that there is alot of diversity with slams, grooves, breakdowns, technical grinding and also straight forward blasts. Vocals are brutal exhales that are low, yet powerfull mixed with some occasional pigsquels and some highpitched screams, not that Katsuyuki's vocalstyle reminds me of any other specific vocalists, he although fits the fold of brutal death metal vocals, the thing I want to say with this is that his vocals is very standard (and perfect) for Infected Malignitys vocals.

I take it that Infected Malignity's lyrics are somewhat political with such names as Revenge to capitalism and from what I can remember when I checked out Defiant Manner they also had a somewhat political view on the lyrics, kinda like what Dying Fetus has going on. I.M. are also good musicians, that also possess the ability to not only write pretty challenging music, but also has the ability to write some really catchy tunes, the drums are simply the best thing about this demo, without any doubt, really tight and diverse stuff.

Something that would've done this demo better though is if they had a heavier production because it tends to sound a bit too "flat" and the guitar coudld've been heavier if I could speak my mind. The drumsound is thick and also has the "tipped-over-can" sound to the snare and the kickdrum dosent have that overly trigged sound either. So next time guys, a bit more "a bit more juice in the machinery" hehe, other than that you got the music all right.

A very promising demo and interesting demo I must say, definantly worth checking out if you've been amazed by the bands coming out of Japan lately. If you are into old Dying Fetus styled stuff along with Disgorge (usa) and Devourment oriented slams, then this shit will take you by storm.

Infected Malignity - The Malignity Born From Despair

This is a three-piece powerhouse out of Japan who have more talent than alot of five piece deathmetal bands. Compared to their demo, it seems like they were focused to write a more complex set of songs for this first full-length of theirs out on UBR. You know being on UBR there's tons of blasting with pounding riffs, but they put a fair share of super heavy breakdown parts as well. Nice grooving riffs too. They even throw in some crazy scales! The guitarist is very talented and makes sure you're entertained.

The drumming is mixed to a flawless sound. He reminds me of George Torres, with that real perfect, machine-like syncopation. Like it's hard to believe a human is doing all you're hearing. There are really cool little drum fills too here and there. The vocals are different compared to their previous demo. They have that more old-school feel to them compared to the gurgle-gurgle sound. They sound really harsh, and fucking awesome. They have a nice flow to them, just like the overall effect of this whole cd. You could listen to the whole thing in your car, have it repeat, and listen to it all over again!

This cd deffinately brings us a sure classic brutal deathmetal release. This is what hard work brings. And you know it's gonna rule when Kahori does the layout and artwork. She only does kickass releases. If you decide to buy this cd, you will want to listen to it over and over. I just try to get to the point, so there ya go!

Infernal Revulsion - Devastate Under Hallucination

if you are fan of slams then you've most likely heard of infernal revulsion by now and this full length cd they just released is a masterpiece that should be in your collection for sure. this release through goregiastic records shows that the JPDM scene is growing and what JPDM is all about.

alright first off the bands overall sound is that of a guttural slamming nature. the guitar sounds clean and dry which compliments the detailed riffs well so you don't miss any second of the groove which to me seems based on the NYDM sound like internal bleeding or dehumanized but they are not rip off riffs they evolve those bands riffs into their own style. there's some fast and melodic riffs that remind me of disfigured from new york and let's not forget the occasional breakdowns that are reminiscent of devourment. overall the bands sound is very groovy and catchy with all the slams, breakdown parts, and tempo changes that all work well and all the songs are not the same slam style repeated track for track but they all have different developments and won't leave you bored.

hideath's vocals lay between low gutturals and growls like shawn from insidious decrepancy uses although not exactly like shawn's so that's a good thing and another plus is that hideath's vocals are really deep as well, you'll be able to immediately see his range and skill he moment you hear the first vocals kick in.

as for the drum and bass lines they are very tight and create the foundation of the band especially the double bass which sounds exceptionally tight, and the bass gives a good amount of stability to the band so each instrument in it's own right makes the band that much more vital and that much better than other bands.

if you are big fan of JPDM then you don't want to miss this cd. even if your not that big a fan of JPDM any general fan of this style of music will appreciate and love this cd and what it brings to the scene as far as death metal goes, american or japanese.

Infernal Revulsion - Loathsome Breeding Of Virulent Revolt

Links:
Myspace Website
When you look at the band photo of these guys, (if you're looking at it before you have a first listen), you can't see the two dude's shirts in the back. But in the front, you'll see the three wearing Dying Fetus, Dehumanized, and Cryptopsy shirts. So you'll have a slight idea of what to prepair yourself for. Just a two song demo here consisting of THE UPMOST BRUTAL SHIT!!!!!! This is a 5 piece from Japan. I really think these guys are gonna make one of the most classic ultrabrutal deathmetal albums when they put out their full-length. They play very well. It sounds like they've been playing for 20 years professionally. They come up with creative, catchy riffs too!

Vocals are right on par with the sickest gore gurglers out there. When most drummers are afraid to pull off constant fast double bass, this guy exceeds the boundaries with much more than just spurts. Do I really need to say more?! These songs will make you bang your fucking head off! Breakdown after catchy breakdown. Various blast paces that will make you want to pound the shit out of something with your fist! This is exactly what I need to put on in the car right after I have a bad day at work! Right along with Sermon Of Mockery-Pyrexia!

Pretty much everything I like about music is in these two songs. Everyone needs to keep their eyes on these guys, cuz they deffinately need to be recognized for this amazing shit. There are few things I enjoy more than discovering an awesome new band. This is deffinately a sick treat! I'd have to say this one of my top picks to check out, for new stuff this year.

Inherit Disease - Obligated to suffer

Links:
Band Website
Label Website
Inherit Disease are not that new, but from what I know, pretty unknown for the most of us digging this kind of music. Coming out of CA there comes as no real suprise that these guys are performing technical and brutal death metal in the same vein as Deeds of flesh and maybe in some ears, even Disgorge (US) I remember way back when I heard their first, or at least I think it was since I cant really recall right now, anyway, that time I didnt really think that this band was that interesting at all, but they had potential.

Inherit Disease are now back after a hiatus with their new demo entitled "Obligated to suffer" and the first difference that I can hear are definantly the vocals that are more croaky, a bit into the same vein of Digested Flesh and maybe a wee bit like Wayne Knupp, definantly better than their old vocalist that used pretty decent Deeds of flesh styled growls. I mean, when you hear technical death metal in this vein you kinda expect that its going to be Deeds of flesh styled growls or at least something similar to Disgorge (US), but nu-uh! Obie suprises us all!

This demo shows up a new and more competent Inherit Disease from what I can remember, the songs are pretty diverse from each other and you can actually tell them apart from each other (something you cant really say about D.O.F., not that I'm trying to nag or talk shit about that band). The vocals on the other hand could've been a little more diverse since its pretty much the same thing all through the tracks, but then again they do a good job and its nice to actually hear grooves and slams in the middle of this orgy of technical riffing and drumming.

Recently I.D. got signed to Unique leader as well and they have already set a date, november 26, which is the date when they will start recording their yet untitled album at Avalon studios (same studio that Deeds of flesh has used for their last two albums). Speaking of production, the production on the demo is pretty clear and works out great for a demo, instruments can be heard well and nothing is being left out (yes, you can even hear the bass!), maybe that the vocals are a bit too high in the mix, but thats nothing out of the ordinary hehe.

Inherit Disease - Procreating An Apocalypse 2006 UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS

After an awesome demo release "Obligated To Suffer" This is the debut album for Inherit Disease and they are off to a very good start. Hailing from Santa Barbara CA. this band of course has that technical CA. approach. But there is nothing wrong with that! They have amazing production and a sick sound. I can be a very tough critic but after a few listens I could not find anything to criticize. Solid drums sick ass vocals and punishing guitar & bass work. The track "IMPRISONED AND AFFLICTED BY ABERRATION" is amazing the breakdown at 2:40 is relentless! I would have to say this cd is mandatory!!! Any fan of technical CA. death metal will not be disappointed. I also want to add the vocal work does set this band apart from alot of other Unique Leader bands much more brutal approach Obie Flett's vox are just plain crazy! This is one of the best releases of 06'

Inhuman Dissiliency - Dismembered and decapitated

Links:
Band Website
Inhuman Dissiliency is a three piece hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, formed from a defunct band called Silenced (no idea what they played though) in the year of 2001. The rest is history, I dont feel like teaching you readers storylessons, if you want to know the rest then just surf to their page instead, I'm here to review some music, damnstraight I am! :p

Inhuman Dissiliency is one of those bands that still dont let you down when it comes to keeping death/grind/gore brutality filled with goreart and sick lyrics, while so many bands often turn away from this subject that I think brings a certain touch to this music, almost making it even more brutal. The image on the coverart was suprisingly in good quality and I've found out earlier from Shawn that he actually worked at a printercompany (that luck bastard!) Also be sure to check out their merch. on their page because they got tons of good quality stuff and once again DAMN YOU SHAWN FOR BEING SUCH A LUCKY BASTARD! :P

This is so good drummachine brutality pretty similiar to the likes of Retch and Devourment, the slower and chunkier parts being very much in the vein of Devourment (maybe a bit too similiar sometimes), good thing that they got some fast stuff as well, to make it more interesting. A well programmed drummachine as well and catchy riffs that will stay on your ears after listening to this piece of brutality. The vocals are kinda gurgling, kinda original in a way cuz I havent really heard anything like it before, maybe not the most deepest shit I've heard but they sure as hell are effective and gurgly. The remaining members also does some cool backing vocals, mostly some hysterical screams and some kind of gargling, almost vomitoussounding sounds, good stuff, but I could've wished for even more diversity actually.

The demo is roughly recorded, but is still heavy and has a really nice guitarsound to it, the drumprogramming lacks of some real "punch" sometimes and could've been "heavier" if I may say so myself. They are currently recording the follow-up to this demo that will be an ep entitled "Immersed in carnal decay" and from what I've heard when talking to Shawn and Brian it will definantly have better quality and be sicker. One thing that bothered me a little bit was that the samples they used were in pretty bad quality, but I guess that it was hard to get them in any better quality.

Groovy and brutal "slam"/gore/death with some nice fast blasts as well, nothing that really advanced and maybe you've heard something similar sometime, but I although think you should give it a listen. Man, I can almost hear fans of devourment cheering as I mentioned "grooves similar to devourment", nah, must've been something from imagination hehe.

Inhuman Dissiliency - Obscured in putrescence

Links:
Band Website
After hearing Inhuman Dissiliency's Dismembered and Decapitated demo and loving it, I was keen to hear what this promo stuff Obscured in Putrescence, taken from their upcoming album Immersed in Carnal Decay would sound like.

Obscured in Putrescence features the song Necro-Cannibalistic Infest from the demo, and a song previously unreleased called Vomiting decayed fecal matter.

The layout for this release is really simple with plain black and white abstract looking artwork with a foldout complete with lyrics and a considerate thanks to all the underground bands keeping the current metal scene alive, which I thought was cool. It looks professional even for a 2-track promo, even more impressive considering its all self-released and financed. First thing that hits me about the actual songs on this promo, Breakdowns. Slams. Inhuman Dissiliency being self confessed Devourment freaks really shines through in this recording. This is really listenable and tight, with nice chunky mid paced riffs accompanied by some fuckin sick as vocals. Brian sticks mainly to deep gurgles, but pulls of some really odd stuff here and there, almost choking sounds and hissing which makes for really interesting listening.

As for the drum programming, Id like to see them go for the same sort of recording sound as the demo, the drum machine seem to be a bit overbearing in this recording in comparison, but keeping in mind this is a promo and not the finished album, I wont crucify you guys too much for that! Haha. I think the beats are well placed though and dont have that really drilling industrial sound like some drum machine based bands can.

Obscured in putrescence is a good build up for what I know will be a killer release from these boys. Look out for Inhuman Dissiliency Immersed in Carnal Decay coming soon (I hope)!!!

Insidious Decrepancy - The Inerrancy of Profanation

Links:
Myspace Website
right off the bat i'll tell you insidious decrepancy's new cd through unmatched brutality records owns! as everyone knows shawn has a lot of projects besides insidious decrepancy like viral load, grotesque formation and he recently started up inextricable entrails so it's safe to say he's one of the masters of txdm.

ID is more technical than viral load is and he shows a new kind of txdm with slams and breakdowns combined with deeds of flesh styled technical fast paced parts and he pulls it off well into one complete and brutal package.

the drum machine is very complex but the sound is so polished and the tempo changes are so smooth like it's not even a machine and as for his vocals, yeah there guttural as fuck but we can distinguish his vocals when you compare them with others. so his vocals are really original.

as i said before all in all this is a great release so if your into txdm at all and like it splashed with a little technicality then definitely check this cd out.

Internal Decapitation - Demo

Links:
Myspace Website
this one man band includes cianan from surgery so you'd probably expect to hear something like surgery but this bands sound is not like surgerys, it's overly down tuned but still tight and resembles a more NYDM sound than anything. there's only one song on myspace so it's hard to say much about this band but for me the band sounds good and i look forward to hearing more songs. the one song on their myspace is constructed of slams and some melodic old school styled riffs that make the band groove well and cianan uses different patterns than your used to hearing from surgery, as for vocal parts his vocals are sewer styled low gutturals and the drum machines is basically very similar to surgery.

for me internal decapitation is a band taking early internal bleeding's sound and making it more low and more underground with a drum machine so i hope to hear more new songs coming out soon but until then give this one song a listen and judge for yourself.
